πŸŽ›οΈCenter Console

The centre console may be equipped with either modern radios or legacy (stock) radios, depending on the configuration selected.

Modern Equipment

  1. KX155: NAV/COMM transceiver providing both voice communications and VOR/ILS navigation. Displays active and standby frequencies simultaneously; frequencies are swapped with a single button press.

  2. KR87: ADF receiver tuning Non-Directional Beacons (NDBs). Works in conjunction with the ADF indicator on the instrument panel to display relative bearing to the selected station.

  3. KFS564: Transponder (XPDR) transmitting a four-digit squawk code in response to ATC radar interrogations, allowing ground controllers to identify and track the aircraft on radar.

  4. JA95 Audio Controller: Audio panel and intercom controller managing the routing of radio transmissions and intercom audio. Allows selection of which radios are monitored and which are active for transmission. Activation requires selection by primary dial (centre), then movement of relevant switch forward, and is signaled by illumination of a green LED. For more information, please see real-world manual (not simulated to full-fidelity).

Legacy Equipment

  1. KFS564 (ADF): Frequency control unit configured for ADF operation, used to tune Non-Directional Beacons (NDBs). Works in conjunction with the ADF indicator on the instrument panel to display relative bearing to the selected station. Large dial controls last two digits, small dial controls first two digits. Values are swapped with a single button press (white rectangle).

  2. KFS564 (NAV): Bendix/King frequency control unit configured for VOR/ILS navigation, used to tune and manage navigation radio frequencies for en-route and approach navigation. Frequencies are swapped with a single button press (white rectangle).

  3. KFS564 (COMM): Bendix/King frequency control unit configured for VHF voice communications, used to tune and manage active and standby communication frequencies. Frequencies are swapped with a single button press (white rectangle).

  4. Becker B3401 Transponder: Becker ATC transponder transmitting a four-digit squawk code in response to ATC radar interrogations, allowing ground controllers to identify and track the aircraft on radar. Large dial controls last two digits, small dial controls first two digits. Four modes: OFF, STDBY, ON, ALT.

  5. Becker Audio Controller: Audio panel and intercom controller managing the routing of radio transmissions. Allows selection of which radios are monitored and which are active by rotating main mode dial (left). Volume is controlled by smaller dial (right).
